No vulnerable surfaces for dirt to build up
Cleanliness is essential when it comes to cleansing intimate areas. That's why we work hard to ensure the easy-care AquaClean shower toilets provide perfect hygiene. For example, a special surface coating on the WC ceramic appliances ensures that bacteria and germs are prevented from settling in the first place, thus effectively eliminating the spread of disease and infections. And to make absolutely certain that you can always clean yourself with clean water after going to the toilet, the spray arm and spray nozzle are automatically water-flushed before and after each use with fresh water, allowing you to enjoy the feeling of being freshly showered.
Water – the most hygienic cleaning agent
Prof. Dr med. Alexander Herold is a specialist in coloproctology at the internationally renowned EDZ centre for coloproctology in Mannheim, Germany, and a staunch advocate for using water to clean the more intimate areas. Indeed, the expert firmly advises against using treated toilet paper or wet wipes.

What form of cleaning would you recommend? For me the answer is clear: clean water – hot or cold – is always the most effective and gentle way. You should stay away from bleached, perfumed or colourful toilet paper, since these can contain allergens. I would also advise against using wet wipes as well. The preservatives which keep the paper durable as well as the substances used to ensure they stay moist can pose a hazard to people who have allergies.
What disadvantages are there to cleaning with water? There aren't any. With water, your bottom is cleaned thoroughly, and the cleaning is also gentle to your skin. So water is by far the most hygienic cleaning agent.
